Nochebús
Visual identity and wayfinding
Despite its large numbers of night workers and vibrant nightlife, Mexico City’s Nochebús service was relatively unknown. A combination of poor reliability, personal safety concerns and limited information provision resulted in a low-quality customer experience and a service that was only used by people without alternatives. An improved and consistent night bus brand and information system would help build user recognition, understanding and visibility.
The contemporary visual identity acknowledges Lance Wyman’s Mexico City Metro’s iconic brand yet is distinct and recognisable in its own right. A suite of passenger information products, including a schematic network map, local area wayfinding maps and templates for stop-specific information created part of a system manual.
The system is being piloted on Insurgentes, a major street in the city.
This project was shortlisted for a Design Week Award 2019.
